Imagination

This weekend was pretty good...I spent most of it with FI working on this old house..We found a newspaper in there that was from the 6 year anniversary of pearl harbor. It was pretty neat to see how journalism has prgressed in all aspects especially since I have a passioni for it myself. We skipped dinner and movies this week and just cooked..Saturday was "Build-A-Hill" something FI's Dear Dad invented when he was young..It's basically a taco salad lol..and Sunday it was cajun shrimp stir--fry with lime tostitos...Yum-o lol..

Friday while babysitting for Mr. Sleepyhead again his older brother was sooo amazed with the shapes he could see in the clouds..I never seen anything, which got me wondering...What happens to that imagination?? The ones we have when we are kids, the ones that let us spend all day llying in the grass imagining shapes in the clouds...I guess we just put it aside and let all our "grown up" thoughts take its place...hmmm..Just something to think about.

Theese are the stepping stones to my future freelance journalism career...

So if I havnt already mentioned I would love to some stuff in freelance journalism...and I currently write for both my school paper and the county paper where i live..Well for school i got stuck with an article on lent-the catholic holiday, Something i know nothing abot..but i thought it would be neat to start posting my stories on here and maybe getting some feed back..so this one is still incomplete but let me know what you think.

We’ve all heard about lent, but exactly what is it? Is it a day dedicated to those annoying little fuzz balls that come from your dryer? Not hardly, Webster’s Online Dictionary defines it as , the 40 days between Ash Wednesday and Easter Sunday observed as a time of pertinence and fasting.

Senior (Seniors name here) said it is basically just giving up something or doing something like volunteering somewhere in honor of the holiday. “I’m giving up chips and stuff like that” said senior about her sacrifices.

The “rules” of lent also say that are to substain from eating meat on Ash Wednesday and all Fridays during the holiday. Which means we can look forward to fish patties every Friday for the next 40 days. This rule applies to all Catholics up to age 60. It is also supposed to limit their eating to one full meal and two lighter meals for the day. Catholics are also asked to go to confession and receive Holy Communion at least once during this time.

The huge party known today as Mardi-Gras has become the celebration or last “hoo-rah” before the sacrifices made during lent.

Love forever, ending never, everlasting love

The Best Is Yet To Be
On your joyful wedding day,You begin a brand new life.Friends and family give their giftsTo joyful husband, blissful wife.
But the greatest gift you'll ever get,A gift from heaven above,Is love forever, ending never,Everlasting love.
You'll share life's joy and pleasure; You'll have plenty of that, it's true. But love is the real treasureFor your new spouse and you.
And if life hands you challenges,As it does to one and all,Your love will hold you steadyAnd never let you fall.
Your wedding day is full of joy;Tomorrow you cannot see.But one thing's sure for the two of you:The best is yet to be.

I stumbled across this poem today, and I believe it just says so much. Im seriousley considering having it read at my wedding. I think its simply beautiful!

Any catholic readers out there?? I need some help on my journalism article on Lent!

Oh yea! I took my compass test yester day and the scores were pretty good..Thanks to my great FI for helping me study up! and keeping me focused, I swear i get soo distracted sometimes! BTW did a anyone see The Bachelor last night, I mean seriousley how heartless can one get?. It's crazy how someone can do that on NATIONAL T.V and to think about little Ty. I mean im sure that he is really confused as most little kids would be.
